Your screenshots never touch us.

Hostbeam moves screenshots from your Mac or iPhone to your own server over your own SSH. That design is the privacy policy: the file goes straight from your device to your host, and no Hostbeam system ever sees, stores, or relays it. This page lists the few things we do process, and why.

What the apps never send

Your screenshots and photos. They travel over your SSH connection only.
Your SSH keys, config, hostnames, or credentials.
Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. There is none.
Free-tier usage counts. The daily limit is counted on your device and stays there.

What is processed, and by whom

License activation and checks. When you activate a license, the app sends your license key, a device identifier (a random ID the app creates, not your Apple ID or advertising ID), and a device name to our licensing service, Keygen. Licensed installs re-check the key quietly about once a day. This is the only network request the apps make on our behalf, and it exists so your license works on up to three devices.

Device permissions. The iPhone app asks for camera access (only to scan the pairing QR from your Mac) and photo access (only to read the screenshot you choose to beam). Both are used on your device, in the moment; nothing from your camera or photo library is ever sent to us. The images you beam go to your own server, over your own SSH, and nowhere else.

Purchases. Checkout is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record: legally, Paddle is the seller, and Paddle is the data controller for your payment and billing data, under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see card numbers. We receive your email address and order details so we can create your license and email you the key (delivery via Resend). Purchases in the iOS app go through Apple instead; Apple shares no personal details with us at all.

Support. If you email support@hostbeam.app, we keep the correspondence for as long as it's useful to help you.

This website. Served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs. The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The checkout page loads Paddle's script when you buy; their privacy policy applies there.

Your data, your call

We keep license records for as long as your license is meant to work, which is forever, so they persist unless you ask otherwise. Email support@hostbeam.app to access, correct, or delete what we hold about you (your email address and license record), and we'll do it. Deleting a license record deactivates the license.

Hostbeam is not directed at children, and since it has no accounts and no data collection, we hold no personal data about anyone, children included.

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be called out plainly, not buried.
